On January 2, 2020, Tec Inc., promoted two executives. Terrance (Terry) Kilbourne, former President became CEO and Adam Kilbourne, FSMPS, CPSM, assumed the role of President.
Terry Kilbourne founded the firm in 1983, starting as a lighting and electrical design firm. He has led Tec Inc. since and during his leadership tenure the Eastlake, Ohio-based company has grown to three regional offices, and over 30 employees. Last year, Tec Inc. expanded its geographic reach by opening an office in Pittsburgh.
“We have a well thought out plan, excellent, high character, experienced and capable people stepping in. I am excited for Tec’s future,” says Terry Kilbourne. “In the CEO role, I will foster the continued aspiration to be the firm clients insist upon.”
Terry Kilbourne is a member of the Society of Marketing Professional Services and a Lighting Certified designer. He is a well-known and esteemed local businessman who continuously gives back to the Northeast Ohio and AEC community. He has served in Board and Executive Board positions for several local non-profit agencies including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio, and the Mentor Public Library.
At Tec Inc., Terry Kilbourne has been influential in fostering a culture of business development, having prioritized client experience while serving as the firm’s President, he provided oversight of Tec’s Business development strategy in addition to daily operations. He serves as Tec's Chairman of the Board. In his current capacity, Kilbourne has executive level oversight over the firm's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design professionals in three offices: Eastlake, Columbus, and Pittsburgh. In the CEO role, he will continue to mentor the incoming executive leadership, foster client relationships, and direct broader company initiatives.
Adam Kilbourne, previously the company’s Executive Vice President of Business Administration, is a 20-year industry vet who has been with Tec Inc. since 1999, when he started as Information Technology Manager for the firm. Adam has played a pivotal role in the firm’s marketing and business operations. He is an active member of Society for Marketing Professional Services and achieved the designation of Fellow from the organization in 2016. He currently leads the firm’s administration and business operations.

Tim Pool, PE, RCDD, promoted to Executive Vice President last year, will serve together with Adam and remain the lead engineering principal directing the firm’s technical production. Tim has been with Tec Inc. his entire professional career and will manage technical staff and be a technical resource to Adam as he assumes the role of President. Tim and Russ Edwards, our partner in charge of the Columbus Office, will continue to serve as technical and executive leaders of the firm.
